Amano Shrimp

Caridina multidentata

Description:

Amano Shrimp is a local types of Japan and Taiwan. This species otherwise called Yamato Shrimp, Japanese Shrimp and Algae Shrimp. It has a clear body covered with a messed up line of rosy earthy colored focuses on its sides. The dorsal surface has a white stripe that runs from the head to the tail and the eyes are dark. Females are handily recognized from guys by their more prolonged lower column of spots.




Diet:

The main diet of amano shrimp is different algae including- hair algae, brush algae, string algae and black beard algae. Besides, they also eat cucumber, squash, zucchini, and spinach.

Conservation Status:

The Amano Shrimp is not threatened at this moment. But IUCN listed it as least concern.
