General Description:

Red Admiral  is an all around portrayed, medium-sized butterfly with dark wings, red groups and white spots. This species was first described by Carl Linnaeus in his 10th version of Systema Naturae. The forewing of this butterfly bears on a dark ground a diagonal vermilion band and a gathering of white subapical spots. On the hindwing the bigger bit of the distal edge is red with a column of little dark spots and at the butt-centric point a lengthen blue spot. The underside is incompletely variegated with blue. in the costal region there is a pale fix and in the distal minimal region a column of ocellus-like spots.




Diet:

Adult red admirals usually eat rotting fruit, tree sap, and bird droppings. Although they sometimes eat the nectar of flowers like daisies, asters, goldenrod, butterfly bush and milkweed.

Conservation Status:

Conservation priority of Red Admiral is low.
