Nazca Lines

 


Our planet is full of mystery. One of them is Nazca Line. This lines are a group of very large geoglyphs made in the soil of the Nazca Desert in southern Peru.

Scientists suggest that, They were created between 500 BCE and 500 CE by people making depressions or shallow incisions in the desert floor, removing pebbles and leaving differently colored dirt exposed.



From now hundreds of simple lines and geometric shapes and more than 70 of zoomorphic shapes of different animals, trees and flowers including- Lizard, Spider, Fish, Heron, Monkey, Hummingbirds, Human, Cat, Dog are discovered from these region.

This lines are a mystery. Actually how was it created? Or who creates this? Several theories are evolved to explain this. One of the notable explanation is these lines may be indicate irrigation or water flow or be a part of rituals.

In 2015, Scientists give a new theory that, pilgrims heading to Peruvian temple complexes used the geoglyphs as ritual processional routes.
